Past projects and history

Cyrus Procurement & Logistics Solutions Pty ltd (CyrusPLS), a procurement and logistics company with a proven track record spanning over two decades, delivering reliable solutions across hospitality, industrial, mining, and infrastructure sectors in Southern Africa.

Sole director Erich Landsberg commenced operations in 1998 in partnership with Executive Catering Supplies, initially focusing on the Procurement of Hotel equipment and spare parts for leading hospitality establishments. During this period, we serviced and supported prominent establishments including Victoria Hotel, Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, Kingdom, and Elephant Hills Hotel in Zimbabwe, as well as all seven Sunbird Hotels in Malawi. Our hospitality portfolio further expanded to include procurement support for Sun International operations in Livingstone and Lusaka, Zambia. These early engagements established our foundation in precision sourcing, supplier management, and time-critical delivery.

From 2004, Erich strategically transitioned into more industrial-focused procurement and logistics operations. This shift culminated in 2006, when the discovery of new coal belts in Tete Province, Mozambique, created demand for complex logistics and supply chain solutions for newly established mining operations. Cyrus played a key role in supporting several start-up and operational mines by assisting with allocation, procurement, and delivery of mining equipment and critical spares. Notable projects during this phase included engagements with ENRC, Minopex, Ncondezi, Benga, Vulcan, Vale, Rio Tinto and Moatize coal mines & operations.

Cyrus ensures that essential assets reach project sites that are often considered unreachable by conventional logistics providers.

In parallel, Cyrus successfully executed highly sensitive logistics assignments, including the delivery of specialized equipment to Anglo American’s Unki Mine in Gweru, Zimbabwe.

This engagement also involved the continuous air freighting of emergency spares to support uninterrupted mining operations, demonstrating our capability in rapid-response logistics and operational continuity.

In 2013, Cyrus was proud to be part of the Cahora Bassa Hydro-power Plant and Dam Restoration Project in Mozambique. Our scope of work included the logistics planning, transportation, and delivery of a 400-ton portal crane, together with new hoists and advanced control equipment. This project required exceptional coordination, heavy-lift expertise, and strict adherence to safety and engineering requirements within a critical national infrastructure environment.

Further reinforcing our expertise in complex project logistics, Cyrus transported a complete macadamia nut processing plant of 120 ton to the remote town Gurue, Northern Mozambique. The final destination presented extreme logistical challenges, including the absence of infrastructure and inaccessible roads for 36-ton trucks. Through advanced planning and adaptive transport solutions, the project was completed successfully despite the constraints.

Cyrus has also supported multinational telecommunications clients, including Vodacom Mozambique, by resolving complex logistics and customs clearance challenges in demanding operational environments.

Today, Cyrus Procurement & Logistics Solutions Pty ltd continues to provide comprehensive procurement, logistics, clearing, and delivery support to clients operating in remote, infrastructure-limited, and high-risk locations. Our longevity is built on consistency, compliance, adaptability, and a commitment to supporting our clients throughout the full lifecycle of their operations.

We welcome the opportunity to engage further and discuss how our experience and capabilities can add value to your organization. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require additional information.

At Cyrus, impossibility is not a limitation; it is the starting point.
