Importation & Processing in South Africa



Once imported into South Africa under compliant customs and environmental regulations, the coconut biomass is transported to a high-temperature biochar kiln facility, where it undergoes controlled pyrolysis.

From Coconut Shell to Activated Carbon

The process includes:

  1. Drying & preparation of coconut shells
  2. Pyrolysis in a specialized biochar kiln to create raw biochar
  3. Steam or chemical activation to develop microporous structure
  4. Screening and grading to gold-recovery specifications
  5. Quality testing for hardness, pore volume, and adsorption efficiency
